Video: Dita Von Teese in PVC shoes, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier
The video from the making of the Melissa-Plastic Shoe Series by the Absynth photographers Michael Labica and Sandrine Dulermo for the Plastic Dreams Magazine is published on the YouTube-channel of the Brazilian PVC-shoe label Melissa. After Zaha Hadid and Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier has interpreted his view on the Melissa-PVC-shoe for Winter 2010. The London based photographers Michael Labica and Sandrine Dulermo have already worked with Alicia Keys and magazines like Vogue, Elle, etc. For the shoes worn by Dita Von Teese they have chosen the scenery of a circus.

No Discipline!

Designers, artists are proving from time to time interdisciplinarity by working in other creative fields than their own. What they have in common: they have learned to create out of indiscipline.

"I was so involved, I didn't know what to think. I carried it around with me for days and days, Playing little games, Like not looking at it for a whole day, And then looking at it, To see if I still liked it. I did!" sings Adrian Belew from King Crimson in 'Indiscipline'.

Workoutcomputer by Bless, 2010. Photo: Bless. The Berlin and Paris-based label Bless (founded by Ines Kaag and Désirée Heiss in 1997) are invited by the Kunsthaus Graz to produce a special exhibition (Bless N°41, Retroperspective Home; 22 May - 29 August 2010) as a response to the museum itself. Bless are known for 'metamorphosing' fashion and objects by setting them into new contexts such as a computer and his cables appear in a new sportive setting. Who knows which programs they have fixed - and how!

'Rock Chair' by Diesel with Moroso, 2010. The chair with the crystal-structured surface is one piece of the Diesel Home collection (furniture, lightings, textiles), which premiered during the Salone del Mobile from 14 to 19 April 2010 in Milan.

'Anglomania Lee Fall/Winter 10 Collektion' by Vivienne Westwood, presented during the Hong Kong Fashion Week on 20 January 2010.

Vivienne Westwood took inspiration from her own archives for the collection of four jeans styles for men and five for women. You will find Westwood's punk/pirates of the 70/80s and her signature tailoring in this Lee-collection. Together with Lee, the British designer has transferred her designs to jeans and denim. The collection will be available from July 2010 on.

Peeptoes by Humanic in an artful arrangement by the Viennese flower shop 'Zweigstelle', SS2010. Photo: Flower Heels by Franz Helmreich.

In April 2010 on occasion of Mother's Day (9 May), Zweigstelle has produced the campaign 'Flower Heels'. The flower artist Andreas Bamesberger (founder of Zweigstelle in 1999) and his team of 9 creative heads had been inspired by around 100 shoes from the store chain 'Humanic' and the shoe-style bible 'Fabulous in High Heels' by Sarah Toner. The high heels with flower art are really available! Zweigstelle is selling them together with the style bible as a Mother's Day package (shoes, flowers, style-bible) during May 2010.

MasterCream by Juvena, SS2010. The cream on this page is high decorated. It has received for its content the European Innovation Prize for Cosmetics and Raw Materials 2009, and is dressed up in a packaging that recently received the international 'red dot design award'.
