LANVIN
fall/winter 2010/11

Sexy, wild, cool view on women

Lanvin is probably one of the most interesting French high fashion labels in 2010. Fashionoffice looked closer at the women's collection and other activities of the fashion house like the collaboration with H&M.

Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz packs into his FW2010/11 women's collection ‘sexy’ experimental cut - especially the shoulders and sleeves are artful sculptures developed from draperies, 'wild' tribal elements like feathers, metal and fur, and evokes a 'cool' appearance with warm color tones of dark grey, beige, black and brown (you can see the pieces in the video on this page). The collection is probably so nice because it consists a 'suspense' between the elements.

Lanvin men's collection SS2011, designed by Lucas Ossendrijver and presented in June 2010 in Paris fascinated the fashion people and was betweeted on Twitter intensively. In summer 2010, Lanvin launched the perfume 'Marry me!' (Fashionoffice article 'Love is in the air'), and on 2 Sept 2010, H&M announced that Lanvin's artistic director Alber Elbaz and men's wear designer Lucas Ossendrijver will contribute a men's and women's collection for H&M which will be in shops worldwide on 23 November 2010; on 2 November the pieces will be revealed to the public.

“Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.

Alber Elbaz speaks in an online video about his sight on the collaboration.
